Canopy
Hanging by a thread are the leaves of the entire canopy from a 12-foot Walnut (Juglans regia) tree. Canopy is a continuation from Tree Listening and aims to focus on the roll of the leaves within the water cycle of the entire tree.
Over the duration of the installation the leaves will change with the lack of water demonstrating their dependency on the tree.
The separation of the leaves from the branches highlights the individual beauty and fragility of the transient leaves that can create such strength of a mature tree.
