After the last ice age this area became a riverbed were a large amount of river sand was deposited here. In 1850 – 1860 the Lord of the Manor decided to dig up the sand to sell.
Two oak trees which are 400 years old were left to grow during this excavation of the sand because it was to difficult to dig the sand away from in between the roots, leaving them on a small hill.
Using the base of the two oaks 2.5 cm white cubes have been used to plot the original level of the riverbed.
